I get to launch our week again.

Okay, Kristine, have you decided which day you'd like to visit the Quilt Museum in Lowell? We talked about the week after Easter. I'm off Monday 4/17 and Tuesday 4/18. Then I work Wednesday and Friday with Thursday off, but I'm home by 1pm on my work days, so you can arrive on those days, too.

The museum isn't open on Monday's but if you want to arrive that day we can visit it on Tuesday. And depending on how long we spend at the museum we could also drive further north into NH and visit Antique shops OR maybe visit them on Monday. A friend of mine says there are about 5 shops in the same area. So if that sounds like something you'd want to investigate, I'll get the details from her.

Okay, I'm off to eat my yogurt and fruit and fiber lunch.

Hi gals,

I'm sitting here drinking my decaf Green Tea and remembering our fun weekend. Thank you Kristine for being the hostest with the mostest. You went to a lot of trouble for us. I greatly appreciated it. It's not often I get waited on hand and foot. Thanks. I owe you!

I used the "S" post-its Nancy gave me in my goody bag to mark pages in the travel catalogs I want to check out further online. After I post this I'm checking out the daymakers website.

Steph is home for her Spring Break, too. She got a subbing job today in a third grade. She had the misfortune over the Winter break to sub in First and Second Grade. It was horrible. This morning I told her I'd be waiting to hear about her adventures in 3rd grade. She just moaned and mumbled something about wanting to crawl back into bed. It's tough not partying in Cancun with hot guys on your Spring Break because you're poor and have no way to make money except to substitute teach! And you're mother, who hates the beach, is asking your opinion about which bathing suit she should buy to wear to Aruba. Life isn't fair!

no good books?

I'm reading the new trade-sized historical by Julia Ross and it's HORRIBLE, at least imho. I can't figure out why, though. It's slow and boring and, while the characters should be interesting and the situation/plot should be entertaining and tension-filled, it's a big "ho hum". Been there, read that.... Read more...Collapse )

writers weekend

Pat, don't worry about food for the writers weekend. I'm thinking about getting some steaks for the grill and sticking some potatoes in the oven. You guys can make a salad. Wouldn't you like a nice filet mignon with sauteed mushrooms and onions? Hmmmm???

Is anyone else COLD?????????????? I can't get warm this week. Am wearing a cashmere sweater and angora socks and generally standing by the fire in hopes of feeling warm. Almost set my pants on fire downstairs (note to all: do not stand by the basement fireplace for long periods of time).

We're heading to Williamstown MA for a weekend away. We never do "weekend driving trips" so I guess this means we must be getting old if we're excited about country inns and "going for a drive". The innkeeper assured me the inn was toasty warm. Maybe I was actually talking to Loralie.

My mother called during GG tonight. Damn.
